Willy Brandt, nacido Herbert Karl Frahm (Lübeck, 18 de diciembre de 1913 - Bonn, 8 de octubre de 1992). Político socialdemócrata alemán. Canciller de Alemania 1969-1974. Willy Brandt fue su nom de guerre desde la persecución nazista. Miembro de las Juventudes Socialistas desde 1930, militó en el ala izquierda de la organización. Al ser expulsada ésta del Partido Socialdemócrata de Alemania (SPD) en 1931, pasó a formar parte del Partido Socialista de los Trabajadores (SAP). Fue representante de este Partido en la Guerra Civil Española y combatió en el bando republicano. Al llegar los nazis al poder se refugió en Noruega, donde se nacionalizó y trabajó como periodista. Al producirse la invasión alemana durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, se trasladó a Suecia, y al término del conflicto regresó a Alemania, recuperó la nacionalidad e ingresó en el SPD.
